Problems with the rear window blinds

Post by fergs » Thu Jul 29, 2010 2:07 pm

Hi,
I have just bought my first ever Bongo I must say that I love it already :D
One thing I cant seem to get the hang of though, is closing the rear window blinds....
Mine has the manual ones & not the electric version & I can close them fine but when it comes to opening them, they seem to get stuck half way up or wont open at all :(
I'm sure there is probably a simple knack to doing this but struggle as I might, I don't seem to be able to work it out .....
Any of you guys care to point me in the right direction please ?

Thanks is advance :D

Mine are the same, just be a bit forceful, they seem to be quite robust, there are notches and you have to force the blind past the notches.
Lost without my Bongo.

If you can "unclip" one side & then let the blind go up with the lower rail on a diagonal, that will aid you past the notches.

On the bottom of the blinds, there're 2 pins going in to the channels. Each pin should have a block on it. The blocks can fall off. If they do, the blind doesn't run smoothly. You can get a spare block from a breaker.
Or you could try a squirt of silicone spray in the channels.

Thanks for the replies everyone - It does appear that the blinds are missing some of the blocks on the ends of the pins so I will try & find some replacements as suggested.
