Diff Oil Quantity

Post by helen&tony » Thu Aug 05, 2010 6:35 am

Hi
I can't seem to find any reference to the quantity of oil in the diffs...we had a service done some while ago, as we didn't have time ourselves, and I am unsure whether the guy put oil in the rear diff...at the time he said it wasn't LSD, but I have checked the Russian site, which lists mine with an LSD....question is, did the mechanic who serviced the Bongo put straight Hypoid in the rear diff, or just leave it!
Does anyone know actual quantities, as it will give me a guide as I have the receipt for fluids
Cheers
Helen

Hi
Ta, Mike..I looked in the handbook, and searched here...must get a manual!....as I have the mechanic's receipt for 4 litres diff oil, (he's an honest bloke) I expect that I no longer have an LSD, as it's been running with straight hypoid
Cheers

straight hypoid -- what is that?

I take it that is the fluid that goes into the diffs? What type of oil is it?
