Post by kickinthebongos » Sat Aug 07, 2010 10:05 pm

when i first picked up my freda a few weeks ago the light flickered on then hasn't been on since. i checked the oil level and its fine.

its now on again after an hours drive. any ideas?

also i suspect a slight blow in the exhaust. if i hold a tissue up to the supect area will it flutter?

Check the level again, but it could be the pressure switch needs replacing, it's come up before as being an issue. Could be doing its job & flagging up low oil pressure of course.
If the exhaust has a hole, then I guess it'd flutter your tissue, where is the suspect leak?
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

get some one to cover the exhaust outlet and get under the motor you will find the leak.

may be worth changing the filter on the oil incase it is restricting flow/preasure

HI kickinthebongos,

i would definitely take the vehicle back to the supplier, various things can cause this problem.

It could simply be a faulty switches or bad connection,on the other hand it could be pump or by-pass valve related.

Mal.

PS You will also register the fault (for future guarantee purposes)by taking the vehicle back.
