That section confirms it...as I said, I thought it was all the way through....but if anyone orders up a batch of new ones....PURLEESE count me in...I can read mine through the plastic, but it's old , like me, and needs a new tank

Subject...replacement tanks..
The Delica owners club have located a manufacturer of pattern tanks via Oz...they can get tanks into the U.K. for about £?? each.......the guy who organized it all sells them on at £55'ish and probably makes a tenner a tank.....I have bought quite a few from him which I hoped to sell with a LCA sensor fitted and a alarm....A few club members did do this and there was a couple of very positive write ups on their forum. However the Delica tank has a reputation for splitting around the seal where the two halves join...the result of this is that they have a aversion to drilling any hole at all in any tank.
The point is...if somone looks into this they could get some made and make a few bob for their trouble or do it for the forum.
I've done the coolant dye...UV torches and now the hose clamps so I will pass on this one.

Re the discolouration, it seems to be a complaint common among owners of many different vehicles.

I am not sure of the material used for the tank, but where 'yellowing' occurs often Chlorine is involved, for those of you with Polyurethane map cases, you will probably have found them going yellowish over the years, this is due to the presence of Chlorine atoms in the plastic.

Perhaps the chlorine from the tap water is being forced into the plastic, and this subsequently discolours, or the plastic itself is releasing chlorine.

Either way it is a permanent, full thickness discolouration as has been shown already, so keep your nuts where they belong!

I am not sure of the material used for the tank, Looks and feels like its Nylon (soapy feel) - tough to cut with a hacksaw. Not hard and brittle like some plastics

............keep your nuts where they belong! 7:45 in the morning and I fell apart ...I got a wierd sense of homour and this one hit the mark - sad innit?

You could buy a set of chrome handles for less than that! And they polish up better than a plastic tank!
