Removing rear seats

Post by Stargazer » Mon Aug 23, 2010 3:57 pm

Hi there,
We wish to remove the last row of seats from our Bongo, is this difficult ? (We have full length runners) Also, once out, are the seats heavy?
Thanks

Very easy to remove the last row....just 4 bolts to undo and yes !! the seat is very heavy..
Then you will be left with the full length "rails" and the 2 'runners' the seat was located on....these can be removed by getting the carpet out of the way....push the middle seat fully forward....unbolt the rails and you should be able to raise the back of them enough to slide out the runner "stopper and slide out the runners....

You will see what I mean once you get started....

Do you have to remove the seats from the runners and then the runners from the actual rails seperately? I thought I could just "open" the ends of the rails and just pull the whole seat straight out? I looked at the fact sheet but this is for short rails?

Hi There!

OK so weve done this now, it was quite tricky but the advice and fact sheets helped, many thanks!

just a couple of points....You will have to remove the seats from the runners as without lifting this off first the whole seat is too wide to pull out, and it is very heavy! we also had some trouble with the bolts and pin...Very tight and one pin was difficult to get at, had to improvise with a "G" clamp in the end!

Anyway, we now have a new bed arrangement using the front and middle seats as planned and there is still room for the dog crate at the back :D
