Smoky start-up
Hi, new to Bongoing, Got a 2.5D Auto, had a mechanic check it out when I bought it (fresh import). When I start it up in the morning or on the staff car park when it has been sitting for a while there is a large cloud of smoke from exhaust.
Once it's warmed up this is not a problem.
Is this normal.

Re: Smoky start-up
If it clears quickly, I would suspect a glow plug failing, causing unburnt fuel, in that cylinder, to be chucked out. You'll probably notice it harder to start when the weather gets colder.

A tip in the short term, wait an extra 5 seconds after the glowplug light goes out before turning it over. This gives more time for a weaker plug to come up to temp.
See if that helps.

Mine did it too just after I had put in a whack of oil in tesco car park, just before I topped up with diesel..same thing a woman with a fag in her hand came from the car behind me complaining that the smoke from my bongo had "gone all over her" I smiled and said " well now you know how us non smokers feel when you cretins blow your disgusting fumes all over us" her face went purple, she went back to her car and obviously told her hubby in the drivers seat, I watched in the mirror as his face cracked and he started laughing like mad.Bet he got some stick.
