Engine tuning and/or re-map?

Post by sniperFM » Fri Sep 17, 2010 11:23 am

Has anyone had to take their bongo for a tune up, if so, where did you take it, cost etc???

I have recently had a new cylinder head blah, blah, blah and feel that she is running a bit rough now since!

Also, has anyone ever had the engine remapped for greater output?

Thanks.

If it's a diesel it doesn't have a map to be re'd.

If it is running rough after having a new head, it sounds like something (timing maybe?) wasn't done right - you need to sort that out first.

Timing of different parts is the utmost you can do.....and diesel pump timing, when spot on makes sooo much difference...

can the pump be " turned up " for more oomph?
and/or turbo " turned up ", ( to 11? )
Fuel economy would be worse but just wondering.
