Hi,
I'm considering fitting an aftermarket remote system to my central locking. I've been looking at these:
http://www.meanmachines.biz/store/remot ... it-10.html
http://www.rclick.co.uk/popup_image.php?pID=671
However, I'm not sure whether my Bongo (Ford Freda) key is too long to get a blank cut that will fit in the fob? Has anyone else done this already? There appear to be two different types of Bongo ignition key and it seems mine is of the longer variety (N reg Ford Freda) and is pretty much completely buried in the ignition up to the shank when inserted.
My key looks like this:

No idea about the fob, but your key looks like my Freda and Bongo ones - didn't even know there were two types

It's probably a good idea to contact the seller and find out what the max length of the blank can be that will fit into the fob folded. I've also got the longer key, and I had the devil's own job trying to get a spare cut. The length of the groove and how far the curved bit on the edge comes up the shank is critical. I eventually had one hand cut by an old school locksmith - and that took several attempts. I also bought a blank from an ebay seller http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT, but even that isn't quite right. Certain keys seem to be a problem getting cut. Owners with the other type of key don't seem to have any problem at all.

I have just fitted that exact thing, ( actually it was the kit with the actuators from right
click) keys are slightly shorter than the mazda ones but work perfectly. when you look on their site my keys were the MZ13/MZ20 type
It's actually a really good kit but when you come to fit the newly cut key blanks to the keys i reccomend a bit of threadlock on the screws as they are rather tiny and tend to come loose without, overall we are well happy.
This is what i got
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Central-Lock-Lock ... 5887a3ff7b
Mines a 98 Bongo
Hope that helps, if you need any info or help with fittings feel free to pm me.
Come to think of it we could compare key lengths (oo er missus!)

Re: Aftermarket Remote Central Locking - Integated key/fob q
Hi Andyf,
I am interested in fitting the same central locking system as you have but on the listing on ebay it says that i also have to buy a two wire motor, is this correct or do i just need the kit.
Thanks for your help in advance
