Re: BritCar 24 hours, Silverstone
I should know by the weekend if we have centre vehicle passes.......
...........then we can camp between Copse & Maggots....inside.....
with the Marshals....... I may be required to provide galley facilities for them bit that is a small price to pay...

Weekend timetable available HERE
and the entry list is available for download HERE
Any further news on the camping Mike, or should we just get three pitches booked with White Rabbit Racing?

White Rabbit say that the £30.00 camping tickets have been withdrawn due to lack of interest, so unless Mike can pull some white rabbits out of a hat, we're going to have to go for the £50.00 ticketsmikexgough wrote:Talk to you at the weekend....... I'm afraid I'm now going to have to miss this meet
I've got a family funeral to go to on Friday afternoon and will be staying overnight. I will actually be in Northamptonshire, but it doesn't really seem polite to say I'm off to the racing

Race doesn't start until 4.30pm, make a dignified escape around lunchtime and get there in time for the pre-race buildupfrancophile1947 wrote:I'm afraid I'm now going to have to miss this meetI've got a family funeral to go to on Friday afternoon and will be staying overnight. It's a nice thought, especially as I'm not keen on funerals (especially my ownmikexgough wrote:And I have now a Marshal's car pass......... (well a very very good copy of an original........which the Wombles wont question...) will get you in no probs....

Re: BritCar 24 hours, Silverstone
Great weekend as usual.....well I like racing and camping.....
Great to meet Team Muz again and it was nice weather daytime yesterday and for the start of the main race, however the weather turned a little sour with the rain that swept the UK...oh well.......
My cousin enjoyed it and got plenty of photos.........I didn't....
I am sure Muz will be sharing some with you all

Re: BritCar 24 hours, Silverstone
Yes indeed. A great event, shame the weather deteriorated but that’s racing – it’s spooky in the grandstands at 5am with the cars circling obediently behind the Safety Car in the fogmikexgough wrote:My cousin enjoyed it and got plenty of photos.........I didn't....I am sure Muz will be sharing some with you all
As far as photos go, Silverstone is undergoing significant change and there are less & less opportunities for fence-free shots, which is really frustrating knowing what it was like only last year

Camp set up behind the Start/Finish straight – No chance of any sleep then

Time to look at some of the contenders – where else can you get into the pit garages and this close to the cars?

None of the Bernie EcclesCake “only people who are celebrities in their own imaginations” here

When did you last see an AlfaSud?

Mrs Muz famously asserted that this should be on a Merry-go-Round

Exhausting work, this

Back to camp for some lunch before the start of the race

Now here’s an idea. Start the race with a Union Flag. But where from – get a geezer in a Red Beret to put a target in the gravel….

….get some people to leap out of what appears to be a perfectly airworthy plane….

….make patterns in the sky….

…and deliver said Union Flag from the sky

Now that is a cool idea

Pre-race buildup – the much fancied Jet-Alliance Porsche 997

The amazingly fast but amazingly fragile Aquila CR1

One of the fancied Mosler MT900R

BMW M3 E46

Good to see Mazda make an appearance

One for Steve (BDC) – A Cosworth Escort

Porsche 993 RSR

Marcos Mantis

Aston Martin N24

BMW M3 E92

Seat León

Lotus Elise
