Seat Belt Warning Light

Post by Marcus Beechcroft » Mon Sep 20, 2010 8:55 pm

Hi there
I know its not the most important bit of kit in the Bongo world but when the Belt warning light stops working it seems a shame not to try and get it going again.I've checked for loose wire conections but all seems OK. Guess the problem is in the buckle clip which get a lot of use.
Any suggestions about how to dismantle the thing would be most welcome.

I unplugged mine.

I can tell if my seatbelt isn't on by old fashioned methods.

Is it really nessacary to have yet another warning light stating the obvious?

Mine had been unclipped...... works now.......you might have a broken wire?.....usual checks advised...fuse etc....before taking buckles apart...

To Mister Monkey
Yes I know its sad, but if a warning light not working I want to know why. Yes, I know you don't need one to belt up but to me it could be the start of the slippery slope where kit packs up and you don't bother to mend.
In some parts of the world its mandatory and in any case I like lots of warning lights!

No offence Marcus but if thats a worry for you, I wish I had one like yours!!

I'm having trouble keeping up with replacing cylynder heads, piston rings, alternators, steering racks, replacing rear arches, snapped camshaft, two dead batteries, accident damage after being the victim of a rear end shunt on a roundabout plus tyres, brakes, filters & general service costs.

I've put over 4 grand into mine since christmas & it still needs a new radiator, stat & possible front diff!!

If I had time to worry about the seat belt warning light, I'd be a very happy Munkey.

The plug under the drivers seat has quite possibly separated.
Lost without my Bongo.
