You pressed the HOLD button by mistake or the automatic Transmission is trying to tell you that it has a faultcode for you.

Another vehicle I fixed needed the gear box filter cleaned/replaced, that caused the slipping of gears.

Thanks guys i read somewhere it might be a problem with either of the sensors from the speedometer to the gear box....this might be causing the hold light flashing...
