Moving Seats in R-reg

Post by kimbo1 » Mon Oct 04, 2010 3:43 pm

Afternoon all,

Can anyone offer any advice with the following problem please...... my bro has an older version bongo to mine where the very back seats are split into 2, you can pull a tab underneath them to swing them round and up to the side leaving a nice big empty floor area in the back of your bongo without having to remove your seats.

My back seats are all one piece and I can't work out whether you can do the same thing to mine some how or, if the only way to gain extra space in the back when needed, is to remove these back seats entirely?

Any help much appreciated,

Kimbo - Devon

I have removed my rear bench seat - not hard to do but very heavy to lift out - really needs two people to do - and I have two rear kitchen units in when camping and then swap over when I need an 8 seater vehicle. Flip up seats on earlier Bongo's have a different fitting so cannot easily be swopped for your bench seat.
Be nice to everyone they might be nice back.

I would be most grateful if the bongo owner from Taunton would let me know his method of removing the bench seats from his vehicle.

Mine is a 96 model and I am finding it impossible to remove them. As some Japanese worker had about 90secs to install them I guess that there's got to be an easy way to get them out.

at the side under the bench seat either side there is a plastic cover flip that off and then there are 2 bolts on each side either 17 or 19mm bolts .....undo them and then the seat will lift out

Hi Ken Reader welcome to the forum as YBB said remove the plastic covers in the "legs" and then remove the 17 mm bolts.

you might need a long extention bar to "crack" them - mine were VERY tight to undo.

if you put your location in by clicking user control panel top right - local people might be able to help you more.
Be nice to everyone they might be nice back.
