Alternater light on and sediment light on

Hi i know i am on the wrong bit of the forum but can anybody help.I have just come bac k from work and my altenator light wont go out and the sediment light is also on.I have checked belts and are ok.Anyone had these probs [-o<

It's surely got to be the alternator if all the belts are tight enough~~if you nip to your local garage they can test it for you in about 5 minutes or less.
