Remote Central Locking - Help Please...

Can anyone please offer me the benifit of their experience and advise with my little problem?
Since having my Bongo the remote control central locking has worked perfectly until that is last weekend. The remote operation has just stopped
I have purchased a brand new battery and fitted it into the key but still nothing
Everything works as it should when using the key in drivers door.
Any and all suggestions most welcome.

it sounds like something to do with the fob

this might sound silly but have you put the battery in the right way up?

Yes i have but thanks for checking though.
Yeah i thought it could be the fob too, i wonder what the hassle would be in getting a new one and having it paired up to my vehicle?

if you get a new one you would need a locksmith to pair it up costs around £25 ish
well thats what my mates vectra cost him

Well i had to get a new spare key for my Peugeot recently, that was ok but the locksmith used the original key fob to get the code to programe the new one by operating it, if mine is duff my guess is he maybe cannot get a code to use in new unit?? It costs nothing to go and ask eh, ill prob pop in this weekend for a chat. Thanks.

Ok so today i thought before i spend any money ill take the key fob apart so unscrewed the screw, split casing, removed the new battery, took out the buttons, took off the printed circut board looked at it, all appeard to be okay, blew off dust from under buttons, put it all back together and guess what, its started working again. Dont exactly know what i did but a rebuild and a good blow did the trick
