Newbie and have a fog light question?
Hi all Bongo Owners............. which i am proud of now on saturday..............anyway........
Is it true that in the rear light clusters, there is no fog light?
I want to find out because when we picked our bongo up, their was a seperate small square fog light at the bottom by the bumper. To activate the rear fog, i turn lights on full, push front fog button, then this homemade red 2 position switch to turn the rear fog on.
But, i have a slight problem, in the fact that i went to do some shopping last night, when i returned only my front lights were on, i had no rear lights or fog lights, but i did have break lights. I done some research and found out that my rear light fuse went (the fuse box under bonnet no8 25A) i replaced this, but now i can not turn of my side lights even though the key is out at the lights are off!!. I think its something to do with this 2 position switch....
Please help!!!.

A retro fitted fog lamp whether built into rear lamp cluster, hung or fitted into rear bumper must run off of its own switch independent of front set and only works in conjunction with side/head lights being on other wise its an MOT issue.

Sounds like something has gone wrong in the wiring dept.
Melted wires and blown fuses etc leaving a live wire in the side lights all the time.
The switch should pull out quite easily, pull off the wires and see if this cures the problem.
Pro help needed.

Re: Newbie and have a fog light question?
well it looks like they have used a live feed from the front fog switch and used scotch connectors to extend cables to the new retro fitted switch.
i will try and disconnect this retro switch at some point this week, but i still have this issue with the side lights staying on even though the stalk is off!!!

First things first.
Unhook the batterys' earth lead to stop it draining overnight.

Hey up! were the dash lights out too...?
I'd be opting to disconnect the rear fog switch, tape up the connectors separately, till you find out what screwed up the wiring...

Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

hey jaylee
sorry for the late reply....
all dash lights out (the green lights around rev counter and speedo i mean) which i replaced the fuse which now works.
i discon the new switch and still have the problem. I think i have a live feed somewhere which shouldnt be there! (it seems that they have tapped into the live feed from the front fog light switch) the side lights must be connected to the 25a fuse for the rear light......
its very bizzar...
thanks for all you're help everyone!

Re: Newbie and have a fog light question?
I would be tempted to look at the whole fog light system fitting...
What's yer rough location? Someone, if not me may be able to help!?
The fuse should be 15amp rating...!?

Re: Newbie and have a fog light question?
hi,
im near bluewater shopping centre.
with regards to the fuse amp rating, it was a white mini fuse which is 25a.
how are the side lights connected? if so which fuse does that go back too?
i am taking it to a place to get the issue diagnosed because then i can use the vehicle at night otherwise it will mean pulling out the fuse each time i turn the engine off plus it will look a bit silly going under the bonnet!!
