Any recommendations for which antifreeze is best for the Bongo. Diesel that is.

Do they ?? I look at a lot of Bongo header tanks and I would say 90% of them have "normal" 2 year blue in them.
But as you say ....you take your pick.....

If you know what;s in there use the same....if you don't.. beware of mixing incompatable coolants

Yes they do...... of course 2 year Blue or Green is okay too...as long as the system is flushed out....

The Japanese use LLC for 5 year protection like the Red G12+ types we have, BUT the japanese use all types of colour for their coolants, so if your going just for a top up it counts for nowt.....

Many thanks, used Halfords 2 year blue, flushed twice.

I had replaced the over the starter motor hose, so took the opportunity to renew coolant particularly after last years cold winter. All the other hoses looked and felt OK but when I put the coolant in the hose under the passenger seat from the engine block to the heater metal pipes was spouting like a sperm whale so lost some anti-freeze replacing that, but done now. Well I hope replacing coolant is always fraught on the Bongo. Not user Friendee.

That was lucky, it sounds like you did that job in the nick of time!
