I had this very same problem, when i first took my bongo out in the wet the canvas was always wet through not the storm covers or zips but the whole tent all over, IMO who ever owned my bongo before me used some strong wrong cleaning agent on the roof tent thus making it non waterproof, my roof tent was as good as a bed sheet for keeping the wet out and causing the sides to be black and mouldy, so one member surgested to re proof the canvas so i brought Fenwicks Awning Reproofer from Halfords i used two tubs i think, i was told to spray it on from the inside,, this is the way to do it i was told, anyway end result was a good one no more wet roof tent, hope this helps you out,

This stuff :D
