Sediment warning light

Post by Bert » Fri Nov 12, 2010 9:23 am

Hi

Can anyone tells me what it really means if this light is on?
The manual says something like "water level in sediment tank is above allowed level" but that doesn't really mean much to me.
Does it mean there is a problem - or just that some maintenance is required?
Thanks

under the drivers seat you will find the fuel filter...on the bottom of the filter is a water "sediment" trap....just drain it off and the light should go out.
I would change the fuel filter at the same time.....(fill it with clean diesel before you fiyt the new one) it will start quicker.

Hi Bert,

If the light comes on with the ignition and goes out when you start the engine, this is normal.

If it stays on when engine is started follow Haydn's advice.
