New Steering Wheel - Horn Wiring

Post by wattg » Mon Nov 22, 2010 9:58 am

Hi All

I have a 96 Bongo with a standard thin plastic/rub steering wheel which I didn't like very much so I bought a wheel cover from Halfords and have used it for the last few months. The cover has been moving about quite a bit so I thought I would replace the wheel with a Mazda 323 Sport leather wheel off eBay. Really nice wheel to hold and drive with but the horn wiring is completely different, so no horn and the MOT is looming. It looks like the new wheel requires to be directly wired through the wheel to the Bongo.

Has anyone else replaced their Bongo steering wheel and had to replace/rewire the horn. Any photos/diagrams/help would be great

There have been several steering wheel replacments, mainly discussed in the "Pimp my Bongo" forum a search for Steering and wheel in the forum alone will find lots of references, for the actual wiring see here;
and also the next page.
