OK, the wheels DO fit, but........

Post by Pablobongo » Wed Nov 24, 2010 1:44 pm

Mitsubishi wheels fit ok, many thanks for all the replies to my topic of some days ago.......BUT, the problem I now have is that of alloy wheel nuts. The ones I have for my usual mazda 6 alloys are a tapered fit, but the ones reqiured for the mitsubishi alloys must be a flat fit, so my question is; If i buy some flat fitment mitsubishi alloy wheelnuts, are they compatible with the thread size of the bongo hub?..... :-k

Hi,

This was exactly the problem I had- I don't know about the mitsubishi nuts, but the tyre fitting shop tested a toyota nut with a flat face and shank (like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-alloy-whee ... 1551wt_901) and they were a perfect fit.

.. I had to have them asap so I had to dash out to the Toyota main dealer and buy 16 + locking nuts for £100> !!! ouch. If you can wait, make sure you get the ones with the flat face and the rotating shank/shim thing like in the picture - plenty of nuts on fleabay are tapered!

Hope this helps,

Steve

A visit to the nearest scrappy for a set of nuts might be an idea - - -
