Its best to let it thaw in a normal room temperature (but best not to do it in the house) its possible that in freezing/thawing you may get buckled plates and nasty things my result
DON'T charge it when frozen
It may not be frozen solid and what's liquid may well start to gas and then you will have a burst battery to contend with

I have had a bit of bad luck with car batteries, not with my Bongo but my Jeep Cherokee. It was new when I bought it but the battery kept going flat after a few days of the Jeep standing unused, the garage kept fobbing me off saying that there was nothing wrong with the battery, even an specialist car electrics place said that the battery was fine . Eventually I change the battery but the second battery was exactly the same. Finally I bought a third battery 18 months ago from Tanya Batteries of North Wales. This one has been brilliant even in this weather. Funny things car batteries. I have a feeling that I got fobbed off with old batteries that had been on the shelf for too long while the one from Tanya was a fresh battery which you would expect from a specialist company with a large, fast turnover.
