Drink beer! you'll be in the heart of cider country!
Would a drive around somerset visiting cider farms be something people might be intrested in?
You've got loads of good pubs around you but proberly a bit too far to walk as you need to either walk along a busy a road in the dark or walk thru fields to get there.

Definitely provided I'm not driving and the pubs allow dogs!!!

The nearest pub to you is the carew arms in crowcombe ( not crowcombe heathfield where your staying) it's right under the quantock hills and is a proper walkers pub. The bar area is stone floor with a roaring log fire and they take dogs in there, good idea would be a walk up on the hills then down the pub for dinner.

I'm up for walking across fields, much nicer than main roads.
