By the body number on the plate fixed to the passenger door column. SLG5 is a 4WD and SLG3 is a 2WD. A bit further complicated by the fact that some Bongos have fixed 4WD and some limited slip 4WD.

See if it's got driveshafts to the front wheels.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

There's a link to a Russian site on here somewhere into which you pop your VIN and BingoBongo all information is revealed.

Surely the huge FULLTIME 4WD decals on the side may well give it away #-o

Seriously tho my 4x4 Bongo had all the 4WD decals removed prior to me buying it but it still retains silver X over a dark blue background badge on the tailgate, tbh it looks a bit like the scottish flag and the obvious give away is the driveshafts to the front wheels.

Not necessarily, lots of 2wd bongos have had the 4wd stickers added, front driveshaft envy :?:

Did they do a Bong M3 then? :? I guess they did it so it looked like they had a "better" bongo if they had a 2wd? But as I'm not a mind reader your guess is as good as mine.

I'm just a bit of a purist, by all means debadge to keep people guessing but adding badges that aren't true is all a bit "BARRY" for me, i'm not sayin that i'm right but i'm just being honest :)

Totally agree, it's a stupid thing to do, I was just telling you that people do it, I wasn't defending it or supporting it.
