Fix 1 problem get 2 for free. ( locking and fuel guage)

Post by springer » Mon Dec 20, 2010 9:52 am

AH the eccentricities of Bongo ownership.

All I did was fix the cooland, essentially just lifted the centre console off, and played with the bleed pipe. When all back together the fuel guage stopped working AND the central locking. OK so the locking is probably a long standing issue, given the windows dont work, and the harness in the door is PANTS.

So the question is what is the wiring for the fuel guage sender, where does it run, can I have dislodged it doing what I did.

As a by the way, we had deep snow here at the weekend, and my Bongo was an absolute joy. At one point I was the only car on the road, never had so much fun.

The wiring for the fuel gauge runs in the "R" loom which runs in and out of the engine bay down by the drivers footwell;

the fuel sensor etc. are all on the the C1-04 connector.

Cheers Geoff

So the answer is I cannot have done anything under the centre console, so its just a coincedence.

Lets hope the problem is at the sender not the dash [-o<

Sounds like the normal earth problem on the sender, maybe if you had the drivers seat up/out you might have disturbed the loom but I doubt it.
