Any suggestions?

Did you own the vehicle when the oil was last changed? If so and the job was contracted out to a garage, ask them the grade of oil they used, (they may even ask you to pop in whilst they top it up for you). If however you bought the bongo with the oil that's already in it... assume nothing, and base your choice of oil on opinions voiced on here. I wouldn't assume the last owner had fitted the "correct" type of oil, i'd drop the lot, and replenish with the best quality oil you can afford, along with a new oil/air filter too... I currently use a semi synthetic 10/40 In my 1995 TD Bongo.

Along with a flushing agent to.
Wouldn't it be great if 'oil' was oil ' anti freeze' was anti freeze, 'petrol' now isn't petrol and unsuitable for classic vehicles. :(
