Hi Haydn,
good quality semi synth 15-40 works fine in mine. Tried other oils such as 5w30 etc and car much smoother on the 15-40.

Re: V6 Engine oil
haydn,to me 15w seems too thick for the cold starts, it may not get to get to the top of the engine fast enough for that initial protection, especially in winter. the 40 seems fine for the hot top end temps.
please contact millers oils at brighouse yorkshire, they are on the net, they have a tecky/advice dept, tell them what you have, including the gas mod, and cat if it still has it, and they will give you great advice.
you have a real nice motor that may have special needs(gas) dont risk the wrong stuff.
if you decide to buy one of their oils give me a shout(i know a man).ssshhhh.
