head light problem

Post by nickyroy » Mon Jan 17, 2011 10:01 pm

Hi guys
Seem to have a real random problem with my headlights. First of all, over the last week, sometimes they have worked, sometimes they haven't. Last night, went out, started bongo, turned lights on and only side lights came on, then around 5 seconds later main lights came on. Tonight, have gone out, started Bongo, turned lights on, only side lights come on with 'brights' on, and unable to turn brights off, or get the main lights to work.
Any ideas anyone, before I book it in to the garage for an electrical check/overhaul.

sounds likely the relay which is in a rubber sleeve on the passenger side inner wing is playing up. If it jams on main beam again try disconnecting the relay.. Standard relay from memory just in a fancy cover.
