spluttering

Post by jutwit » Tue Jan 18, 2011 8:38 pm

when i start my freeda in the morning she splutters like its missing for a few seconds, little rev and fine for the rest of the day, ive been living with it for quite a while now but it has recently become very bad if i leave it parked facing up hill, and doesnt do it if im facing down hill, is there some sort of one way valve on them that might be failing? its a 2.5 diesel n reg by the way.

Sounds a bit like tired glowplugs. Also, what is the AmpHr of your battery and is it in good condition as I suspect that could contribute to poor glow of plugs. The uphill thing is a mystery though and tends to go against the glowplug theory - lets wait and see what others have to say 8)

sounds like a fuel pipe leaking, fuel filter housing, or pump, check all pipes and joints. sucks air to the pump when facing up hill, air goes to the tank if facing down hill.
