intercooler

Post by samb » Wed Jan 19, 2011 6:01 pm

I recently noticed my oooooomph had gone when I put my foot down. I read the forum and clinic archices then searched for disconnected pipes. When I couldn't find any, I gave up and took it to my local garage who but the bongo on the lift and discovered I had somehow smashed the scoop and intercooler, probablythe corner of a curb or something bouncing off the road they reckon.
Any how, I ow need a new intercooler and scoop. - Any one any ideas please?
Thanks
Sam

Had my air scoop ripped of by deep flooding a 3 years ago... The water pulled & ripped it down & the road did the rest..!

Did manage to find a replacement scoop, which you could get away with not having in this current climate... But obviously not the inter-cooler!

Now, when i sourced this part i got the inter-cooler part too as part of the deal, which is surplus to my requirement... ( Part 13-550) If you get stuck Sam, gis a pm!!

Does yer garage know the bleeding process with the Bongo?? (Would i be right in thinking that the inter-cooler is an integrated part of the cooling system Dandy!!????)

Badgers have been known to kill inter-coolers too! :D

no. the intercooler is not linked into the water/coolant system at all, its just part of the air intake system, and is an aircooler using airflow to do its cooling.
its mounted with 3 bolts 2 from below, and one from above, then the 2 pipe clips.

you could obtain one of those ally bling scoop protectors that some have on the front bar to help stop this happening again.
