bongo seems to take longer to start after long run ANY IDEAS
just wondered if anyone can help or has any idea why this happens
ive noticed after a mid to long journey say around 50 miles ive left car for a wile (few hours) then gone back to start it and it seems to take much longer to fire up (turning over for much longer) this happens for about the next five times i turn it over, and then it seems to get better and better then its back to normal turns over straight away then same happens again, Could it be cold weather?? i dont know but it seems a very strange one. it does not happen when i go on small jouneys say a couple of miles so i dont think its a battery issue as a long journey should charge battery and make starting easier if anything, ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS

Sorry Ady, couldn't resist it. But it was my thought too. Doesn't sound like a common problem for a diesel but......

but I do know Healeys can suffer with fuel evaporation in the carburettors due to the heat from the manifold when the engine is hot,
a simple heat sheild between the 2 assists with that, could it be something along those lines???
cheers! party on dudes.

prob sucking in air somewhere on fuel system, have a good look round pipe work and fittings for leaks or cracks, maybe pipes off fuel tank cracked?
