Is this still on?
Can anyone confirm.
I sent a cheque off to Mike but its not been cashed so I don't know if we are booked in or not.
Will go up anyway I think as the site looks great and a cracking location.

Don't know, I PMed Mike last Wednesday but it's not been opened. I think he's been kidnapped by aliens

I had a message from Mike today, he's unable to attend now.
We're still probably going, most likely only for the Saturday night so it could be the World's smallest Bongo meet

Looks like we might have a lonely Bongo.

Well there's definitely going to be two Bongos there, us and Hatris. Anyone else who happens to be drifting by, pop in for a brew. Or something more refreshing

Thanks to mikexgough for organising this, it’s a shame that circumstances prevented him from enjoying the event himself. The campsite is superb, it would be a great meeting point later in the year.
Thanks too to Harry & Trish (hatris) for the tea, campsite steak & jacket spuds always goes down well
Imagine our surprise to be nattering away and a shout of “Hi Muz!!” come drifting across the campsite – to find that James & Tracey (james1508) have ditched their Bongo and were also on the site in their new Fiat Sea
Nice to meet Brain & Chris (briwy), no doubt we’ll see you again in the hills

Kirkstone Pass

Brothers Water from the top of the Kirkstone Pass

Sykeside Camping Park

Briwy, Hatris & Muz

Mint sauce!! Mint Sauce!!

Brothers Water

Guess who forgot the charcoal? – so some wood and some white spirit....

....and, of course, no Bongo is complete without an axe

Ready for a superb tea of steak & jacket spuds

Sadly, Sunday dawned to a demonstration of how the Lakes got there, so a hasty pack-up and we’re now back home, and Martin Dorey’s tidy-up fairies have been

Hi Muz, thats a nice picture of the girls. Sorry to be gone so early. We did pop by with your dishes but no sign of life, perhaps you were all walking on the top of one of those mountains. Did not get much sleep with my shoulder and the rain and wind sound so much worse when your lying awake. We both decided best thing to just get home as soon as. Feel better after a hot bath. We have not checked the equipment yet but if we have anything that does not belong we will pass it to you soon. Tell Hannah we will deffo play the game next time. Was lovely to see you all again. Trish

A good weekend.
Great to meet Muz, Hatris and families and sorry we didn't get to spend more time together.
The walk took a bit longer than we expected and the thick mist on the tops didn't help either.
The campsite is great and I guess you would need to book fairly early in summer to get in as most of the hardstandings and hook ups were taken this weekend.
The pub has good beer and the food is a bit expensive for pub food but the portions are BIG.
Look forward to meeting up again soon and having a bit more time to chat.

8.30 am Saturday. Lovely weather. Looked like being a good day.

Looking across Brotherswater, seems there a path all the way round now.

Looking back towards the campsite.

Walking up the ridge to Hartsop Crag

Chris at the bottom of Hartsop Crag

The weather closing in. What a surprise. The Lakes in February

Walking across the tops in mist near Dove Crag

The last leg. Looking down on the campsite from High Hartsop Dodd.
We could see Muz's barbecue/bonfire from miles away up here. Like a little beacon to get home.
Its a good walk if anyone's into walking, about 8.5 miles and 3200ft of ascent. be better without the fog though.
Brian
ps. if anyone wants it I have a gpx file of the route.
