we use slime works a treat... follow the instructions though.... you can screw a bolt or screw into the hole (within tyre width) and use slime to seal... as a temp measure of course! you will have to drive at a reduced speed though.

use a screw or bolt if the hole is over 6mm in dia. it should be able to seal most under 6mm

Yep have used it a few times, even have a tin of it in each car at the moment, they are around £3.00 in our famous "What" shop, lol, I have even given a tin to a guy stuck at the side of the road with a fully laden car, got him going a treat, even though is says on the can that it is powerful enough to effect a more or less permanent repair, I would and do still get it checked and professionally done at a tyre repair centre. lol, just went out to the bongo to get the can and forgot mu bongo is in the garage having heart surgery.

Ive always been under the impression that if you use these products, then you cannot get the leak/puncture/hole or whatever ,repaired as the `glue`or `sealant` prevents a professional repair and renders the tyre useless and you have to buy a new one.
Is this correct??

It's a myth... slime washes off with water.. as stated on their website instructions. The plug kit maybe different, but then if you're stuck 50k ft up a mountain at 2am -30 degrees....

Make sure you check the sidewalls for damage too if you run for any distance on anything other than run-flat tyres, you may be wasting your time, just a thought....

SLiME Tire Sealant is formulated and tested for use in all pneumatic tires. Once installed, SLiME remains liquid and will not harden or dry out. Slime is guaranteed for 2 years.

As the SLiME treated tire rotates, centrifugal force pushes the sealant to the tread area creating a layer of protection, repairing punctures as they occur or treating existing punctures. SLiME is not intended for use in tires losing pressure from sidewall punctures, bead leaks, damaged rims or faulty valves. SLiME is recommended as a repair only in high speed, over-the-road tires.

•Repairs punctures up to ¼" (6mm) using Fibro-Seal™ technology.
•Remains liquid inside the tire, coating the tread area as the tire rotates.
•Non-toxic, non-hazardous, non-flammable, non-aerosol and water soluble.
•Contains rust and corrosion inhibitors to maintain the integrity of the rim.
•TPMS friendly (Note: May not install easily into tires with direct or valve mounted devices).
•Tires treated with SLiME can be cleaned out with water allowing for the installation of a proper plug/patch.•SLiME for tubeless tires can also be installed into tubeless bike tires. SLiME installs between the rim and the tire bead. Hold the bead open with two tire levers, install, and re-inflate with a fast burst of air to seat the bead to the rim.
What is Fibro-Seal Technology? SLiME utilizes a state-of-the-art blend of environmentally friendly fibers, binders, polymers and proprietary congealing agents which intertwine and clot within the puncture. This Fibro-Seal lattice, together with the viscous transportation system (the "green" goo) seeks out and tightly packs itself into the puncture, preventing and repairing flats with a flexible long lasting plug.

Note: SLiME is not recommended for use in tires mounted on chrome wheels

I use OKO which is designed to be put in tyres before you get a puncture, OE fit for JCB and Manitou now. Great for when you dont have a spare when you are converting to LPG.

I use "wheel milk" from Just Riding Along for tubeless mountain bike setups and on my trailer. Works a treat.

I have thought of adding one of these products to my tyres but the only thing that puts me of is if i do not realise the tyre has a puncture due to the affectness of this stuff plugging the hole could you run with a nail or something stuck in the tyre for a period of time creating a bigger problem like a blow out at a later date ?

may just be me being paranoid but after haveing a blow out in the rear tyre of a motorbike fitted with slim it kind of puts me off.

I think some people might just add this and then think everything is ok and never cast a quick eye over their tyres ever again apart from checking the tread depth.

I seem to recall one Bongo owner using some kind of sealant product and finding it became impossible to get their wheels to balance up properly, so they were left with the dreaded steering wheel shudder. My memory might be Fawlty though
