Hi
Still have not fixed my flashing glow plug.
It is a v reg New shape 2.5 diesel. SGLR 400_ _ _
The bongo gets up to temperature, the glow plug light starts flashing and then the turbo dies away and we lose quite a bit of power. It is tricky getting it over 50 mph and very hard to keep speed up going up hills even unladen.
I have tried to find the problem by doing some diagnostics with 'AWD' people in Perth who had a computer for imports (they said).
These codes came up:
P1110 which I THINK (from a Mazda list) might mean: Intake Air Temperature Sensor Signal (Dynamic Chamber) Circuit
and
P1114 which MIGHT mean: Intake Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low Input
Man in garage said: Air Flow meter Short Circuit - IAT open
But this is where I am unsure hat to do next. ... What parts do I need, from where and what might be the actual problem indicated by these codes? I have been advised that this 'new shape' Bongo has been tricky to fix when this is the problem. There are many stories of Bongos having similar problems that turn out to be various things ... ... EGR, wastgate solenoid, vacuum pipes, tubes, fiddling with vacuum rods, etc
Have you seen this problem? Any advice? Can you discern which part is needed? Man in Dairsie Fife, is the nearest garage for me and its an hour and a half away.
Thanks for any advice
Sorry for the long e-mail.

Re: v reg new shape glow plug flashing
That is exactly the same fault as mine I have a V plate as well. Have been told it is the vacuum valve under the drivers seat and wastegate gasket in the turbo. Apparently the vacuum valve should sort the problem.

Re: v reg new shape glow plug flashing
I have had the same fault on mine (w reg tin top) several times, if you think you might have fixed it, disconnect the battery for a couple of hours as the system has a memory and that should reset anything stored. The electrical plugs under the drivers seat get covered in cack which could be the cause. my cigi lighter cct blow a fuse with the plug in fridge which had the same effect and finaly the vacum activation rod got stuck on the egr which just needed working loose by hand.
hope some of this helps
