Stereo Harness

Post by campergeek » Sat Feb 12, 2011 11:06 am

Finally got my bongo, so the first thing to do is stick a new stereo in. It's currently got a Japanese mindisc player in it, complete with some interesting Japanese rock music  I've bought a basic Sendai thing from Halfords to replace it.

I looked at old threads and ordered this adapter off ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

That doesn't fit though. Can someone tell me what adapter I need. Below are pictures of the loom and the connector on the old stereo.

Cheers,
Alex

Hi,
The PC2-10-4 should do the trick, that's the one that is recommended, what part wont fit?.

Maybe they have put the wrong harness in the package.

Forget about your old stereo, its the new one that matters now.

Cheers..

PS it does say for Non amplified systems, does this apply to your unit.

Make sure you have followed the old cables back, they quite often have extra adaptor plugs/sockets between the actual loom plug and the original unit. You might be trying to fit the new adaptor into an existing old adaptor.

That one in the pics looks like a standard sony adapter follow it back as suggested as that part has to stay with the old stereo

So id say you already have the correct adapter further back

keep digging :)

Sorted. Yes, it was a sony adapter on there already, with the other end cable tied up inside the dash. A grazed knuckle later and we now have non-japanese music! Thanks :D
