Rear Speakers Not Working - Why?

Post by james13009 » Fri Feb 18, 2011 12:26 am

Can anyone suggest why my rear speakers would'nt be working on my 1999 bongo, the rest of the audio works fine.

I've had the side panel off - to check the connection are fine. All looks well. Done an search can 't find any information.

I have an after market radio fitted -maybe this could be the problem?
I was thinking if its not a simple fix then I could trace the wires (If some one knows the colours / where to look) and splice them in to the front speaker.

Any ideas guys?

Not all versions had them fitted ?
For wiring see;

The Black printing refers to the original wiring loom, the Blue refers to the standard ISO connector for 3rd Party devices, click the CC symbol for the colour codes, the next page shows the speaker locations so you can work out front/rear left/right etc.

I had this "fault" and then realised that somehow my Radio had put all the sound to the two front speakers. Two minutes fioddling got it back into kilta.

On the back of the stereo are 2 connectors, 1 supplies power and connections, the other is just the rear speakers, so its possible this connector has disconnected.

My rear speakers work, but if I attempt to adjust the front/rear balance so that noise only comes out of back ones, it simply reduces the volume on all 4 speakers. When I fitted the radio unit I couldn't identify separate feed for rear speakers. Must investigate sometime if I can get a round tuit :roll:
