Fitting alloy wheels

Hi i have a set of 18" team dynamics Monza R wheels. I tried them today but although the stud pattern is right, the centre of the hub is slightly too big for the hole in the centre of the wheel. Do i need to fit spacers or i have seen on ebay spigot rings? What do i need to make these wheels fit?

If the hub is to big then the wheel centres will need to be machined out so that they do fit, spigot rings are for wheels that have a centre hole thats to big not to small and spacers are just a bad idea as it put extra strain on wheel bearings.

I have team dynamic wheels on my 4x4 bongo and they fit fine, are the wheels that you have defo for a mazda fitment and just as a thought do the wheels already have spigots in them that need removing for them to fit your van ?

They are currently on my other car-a mondeo estate. But i did want to fit them on my Bongo. How much does it cost to machine out the wheels or is there another option?

TBH i'm not even sure that the offset is the same you'd need to get it checked before you got them machined, do your bongo wheels fit your mondeo and do the numbers on the rims match ? PCD / ET numbers ?

Never tried the bongo wheels on the modeo but i will have a look at the numbers to see whats on there. Thanks

According to this http://www.alloywheelsinternational.com/FORD.html the Mondeo wheels won't fit - they have a PCD of 108 instead of the Bongo's 114.3. Check before you get them machined out

Yeah i had a suspicion that they weren't compatible, well done for finding that info out

Thanks for finding that out for me but i think i have a solution-i have aquired a set of RX-8 wheels today, i am i right to assume these fit with no modifications. only downside is i need tyres.

Yep - they are a straight fit
Only problem is, if they are 18" wheels, you might be surprised at the price of tyres with a big enough load index

"Rumour Control" reckons they can be sourced for not much more than £50 a corner but whenever I needed them I could never find any under about £110 each.


I'm back on 15"s now but you could get lucky . . . . .

They are 18's and original Mazda wheels so i will have a good look for tyres, being in the motor trade i have a few contacts that may sort me a bit discount. I will keep you posted.

That always helps I used to be in the trade and could get some real bargains, especially if they weren't "perfect"
