Billy won't start ?

Post by lorraine9 » Sat Mar 19, 2011 12:51 pm

Billy won't start. Mechanic arrives and blames the Hornet alarm. Ring alarm techie and he runs tests, all working fine. Engine turns over so not battery problem,
Last time out, the engine was running a little lumpy ( not been used much during winter ) and the heater blowers on the front stopped working ( all others fine )
Best guess on ideas or things we can work through as a process of elimination before we call back ( now moody ) mechanic  Thanks guys x

glow plugs/feed, fuel cut off solenoid,
get mechanic to crack off injector feeds to ensure fuel is getting there.

Also worth putting your battery on charge.

This won't cure the problem, but you will have run it down a bit trying, you don't want to be on the right track and then have the thing go flat.

Good luck.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.

Blocked fuel filter/contaminated fuel..? Could explain the lumpy running before it stopped altogether. Also, It's an easy fix before exploring the more complicated (and therefore more expensive) options.
