Did you disconnect your starter battery before you started ???? sounds as though you may have inadvertantly "shorted" somthing whilst messing about......pull out the bits of broken fuse and fit a new one....see what happens and report back.

No i didn't
I did notice this wire from your wonderful temp gauge and presumed it was damaged when the belt broke. It was all working well up to now but i did move the cable to get my fuse murdering hands in there.

how do i get the old bit out ? they seem like they are pretty solid. Where to get a new one quick? Thanks for the link Wonkanoby.

That temp gauge cable is a write off....unplug it from the back of the display unit.....unbolt the other end from the cylinder head and send it back to me ....I will try and fix it.

I could be way off here but I was led to believe the 100 amp had to be unscrewd underneath

Correct, theres a bolt under neath that goes through the holder and through the 2 copper legs that you see in the picture.
Thats the reason why it just broke when you tried pulling it out Baz

Baz, 2nd row down, the first fuse.. (Number 9) Blue 15a, in the cab fusebox. Also worth a look in case it blew too..?!
