Hi Guys need your help please had not used the Ac since last year all worked fine then, i know you are supposed to run it regulary but i have not been doing this
when i press the Ac button it lights up but nothing happends no cold Air at all also no Dip or rise in the revs either as it used to do, checked the belts all ok, so do any of you know what could be the problem, if it was in need of gas would this be the symptom??? many many thanks Barrington,

Barry....... switch on the Air Con and your engine fans should run.....if not..... then Looking from the front of Bongo....under the bonnet.....the small rad in front of the main cooling system rad....you will find a can shaped drier bottle to the right hand side.....on this...you will find a brown connector... remove this and run a wire across the 2 connector in the brown connector piece and try the A/C again....if it works the fans.... Your A/C needs re-gassing...Barrington wrote:Hi Guys need your help please had not used the Ac since last year all worked fine then, i know you are supposed to run it regulary but i have not been doing this![]()

Re: Help please Air conditioning not working,,,,,
well if you were closer my local garage does it for £25.00, superb too.
Re: Help please Air conditioning not working,,,,,
Eyup Barry
~£25 seems cheap~my local garage has a sign outside saying regassing £49 in large letters as if it's dirt cheap.
I had mine regassed just before Christmas & the difference was amazing.

Don't think theres anything special about the Bongo~i had a bump last November & the insurance gave me a choice of garages (never seen a Bongo) they changed my damaged bumper also put a new cross member on cus they said it was a bit rotten~told them not to take radiator off cus they wasn't capable of bleeding it~so they managed to work around it,but while they were at it they regassed my aircon.Barrington wrote:Cheers Ray thats great mate gives me some idea how much it will be costing, so can i get it re gassed anywhere? or is ther something special on the Bongo systen? cheers guys,

When you go to the garage make sure the compressor is working before regassing. Also when they regas it they should first evac the system and see if it holds a vacuum if it does it will regas ok and should have no leaks. Tried to regas mine a few weeks ago and was leaking from the rear condensor. i wanted the aircon working so i took the rear out of the system for the time being.
Do what you like.Like what you do.

Intresting, can you elaborate please. Might be doing the same, and I don't want to bend over exisating pipes to close off and Allens didn't have any blanking plugs.stuc wrote:When you go to the garage make sure the compressor is working before regassing. General broadcast message.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE A BONGO TO A KWIK FIT for re-gassing. Despite the friendly offer that if it doesn't fix it there is nothing to pay.
I did.
Their machine didn't recognise a Bongo so stuffed it with as much gas as a Ranger (Only one A/C circuit) needed .
In effect, it removed half the gas & caused some expensive to fix seals to dry out & crack within a month.
Nothing to pay on the day but cost plenty to fix later on. Stick with someone who knows the score.
