All the manual says that if you press the button twice you will select A/C ECON for economical air conditioner use.......no explanation how it is economical but I am sure that the answer is not far away on this forum......
Air Con Econ

Re: Air Con Econ
I have been trying the air con over the weekend. When in "econ" mode the air cools then after a time I noticed it had begun to get warmer, as soon as I noticed this it started cooling again. So I assume when in "econ" mode the compressor is switched off for a time to save fuel. I only noticed this because I was looking for it, so I will use this mode from now on

yep , same here
definateley reduced cycling of the compressor, still works well but in full blown summer 30+deg ?, probably wouldnt cut it so ill switch back to normal full aircon.
but for now "econ" it is then !
and 50MPG
yeah right !!

Re: Air Con Econ
Now this is a question I haven't got round to asking but have always wondered. A search didn't really bring anything up last time I checked either.
Seems goos answers to me, so will use ECON from now on.
Not wanting to hijack, atm my problem is Aircon leaks when on one part of the drive and not another. Gives out cold air, but i can't see any movement in the sight glass anymore. I must get pipe prices priced up soon.

Re: Air Con Econ
I do wonder what the difference between econ mode and standard mode represents in mpg, and also what the effect of using normal a/c is on mpg. A friend suggest about 5mpg, which seems high to me.
