Engine won't turnover
Driving up motorway from home on the south coast at 70mph for 2 hours stopped for a coffee 30 minutes later tried to start but nothing. Battery, starter and solenoid checked and ok. Added extra earth strap still no joy. All the dashboard lights come on as usual but when the key reaches the starter position only a click from the bonnet area can be heard. Any suggestions gratefully received. Tiel

Thanks bigdaddycain. No imobiliser fitted and this is the only problem I've ever had with my bongo.

Re: Engine won't turnover
A click under the bonnet does sound like the starter motor not engaging.
Lost without my Bongo.

Re: Engine won't turnover
got engine running by connecting cable from terminal connector spade to positive post on battery having turned ignition on. Does this point to a defective starter cut out relay? Thanks
Re: Engine won't turnover
Here is the circuit if it helps;

It sounds like the usual starter solenoid contacts, which don't always fail totally but no expertise in that area myself.

Re: Engine won't turnover
could it be the fusable link?
http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... sable+link
I dont realy think so but worth considering
there is also a 10 amp fuse in the fusebox by the drivers knee that runs the low power side of it that could be it also
