My nearside wing mirror (electric) is working fine. The glass is adjustable and it retracts fine but it wobbles at speed.
When I wiggle it, it has about a cm of forward and backwards play in it.
Does anybody know what this might be? Is there a screw/nut to tighten? What's the best way to access it if there is?
Thanks everyone,
Surferdave

OK,

Either there's a possibility the clip has jumped of the top of the whole assembly on the spindle that the mirror rotates round..?
(Just to the right of the red ring, slightly half in shot.)
..Or you got a bust plastic spindle in the gear cog drive.. & by some sheer fluke the final cog (where the red ring is) is still in place & only just doing its job in the chain, driving the mirror back & forth...!

Could just have got "out of synch" if it's been knocked or something, try pulling it forward so it's facing the wrong way & you may find the motors clicks in & pulls it back into the correct locked position.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Think you're right. Went out to try the trick and the mirror seems to have miraculously fixed itself. If only the oil pressure light would do the same thing!

Re: Wobbly wing mirror
Always try the simple option first
Oil pressure light may be the pressure switch - not expensive - or it could be the oil needs topping up or changing, where is the level on the dipstick?
