Oil cap not under passenger seat - petrol engine

Post by Travis » Thu Jun 09, 2011 6:05 pm

Very strange have a W reg petrol Bongo but can't find the oil cap under the passenger seat. There is a dip stick there but its small. I can only guess that the cap must be under the drivers seat which has a sink and fridge behind it. No time tonight to even look. Any ideas?

Just read another thread about the same issue.

Still not 100% sure which dip stick is which though

The Dipstick under the passenger seat is for engine Oil level. The oil Cap for filling it up is under the Drivers seat.
The Dipstick under the Drivers seat is for the Automatic Transmission. It doesn't have a Cap at all, you fill it down the dipstick tube.

Thanks its at the top level and looks very clean, so I wont even bother trying to get the seat off.

Thanks for your help

The engine oil filler cap for diesel Bongo is on the passenger side, at the front of the cylinder head. Can't comment on the petrol variants.
