Advice on Tyres
I have two slow punctures on my Bongo & I need a Spare - all 4 tyres are 215/65 15 & my Bongo is a 4wd. I read that in fact I should have 195/70 15 on the front - so I did a search & directed to the Bongo fact sheet - NOW I'm really confused

Re: Advice on Tyres
No, my advice would be to leave it as 215/65 all round.
The original spec from Japan was 195 front and 215 rear, but for UK conditions 215 all round makes much more sense.

Re: Advice on Tyres
Is that because of good road surfaces in UK as I shall be doing some driving in Europe heading down to Bulgaria - which is full of potholes

Re: Advice on Tyres
That can happen if you have mismatched tyre sizes, but 195/70 and 215/65 are close enough in diameter not to matter. Using 215/65 all round means there is no mismatch at all and plenty on here use same size all round without problem.maxmataz wrote:One garage alluded to damaging the differential

Re: Advice on Tyres
Out of interest, are the tyres not repairable? I had a puncture on one of my beautiful Pirelli P7s and they said it couldn't be repaired as too near the edge of the tread. I persevered and eventually found a local vulcanizing service. Not expensive and 100% fixed it -yippee
Re: Advice on Tyres
YES I expect they can be repaired but that's why I asked the question on having 195/70's on the front - if that was the case it would have made more sense to replace them
However I know a place that would put a very good tyre on, for only a little bit more than a puncture repair ( what in the old days were called runners)
