Was thinking the same sort of thing, that it turns on the remote but not the key?? Check fusible link for glow plug power or power the rail directly for 10 secs to warm the plugs.

Wow! I am always amazed at how quick responses can be
I was tired and fraustrated last night not to mention our CANUKS LOST THE STANLEY CUP TO BOSTON... Ratz
Rioting in the streets of Vancouver, looting, and police cars on fire
So, I felt the glow plugs, stone cold [technically, it should try to start w/o them], no dashlight visible, I didn't use a test light or even bother to trouble shoot them at this point - getting dark you see
I have an aftermarket CompuStar Remote Auto Start, Emobilizer, Keyless entry system. Tried that too, no go! I hooked up all electrical connectors and sensors EXCEPT the EGR. Didn't make any difference.
I use a Snap-On Remote Start Button switch directly connected to starter to turn engine over w/o key'd ignition. But that is for testing and turning crank to align timing marks.
I have no idea where the glow plug relay is - ordered both service manuals but not arrived yet
I will try all that is suggested herein and report back...
Cheers,
Dave
P.S. All my parts finially arrived from the UK and USA. The Airlift 1000 kit looks simple enough, and the tow bar MA465 unit is descent enough too! I must get this puppy running with tow bar and Air Lift by tomorrow's camping trip. Weather is beautiful
