great vid.
just trying to think of the cause/s of the damage/fault.
if ive read your other posts correct, this was supplied built up wasnt it.? if it was you would have thought the builder would have set the clearences,and checked that everything was ok,and that everything rotated fine.

edit.
the cam shaft isnt loose on its mounts is it ?.

I had the same or similar problem when my head was replaced 2 years ago. I drove for about 200 miles and a loud bang and sounded like a bag of bolts in the engine. Garage that did the head fixed it all for me FOC and explained that one end of the rocker sits on a ball joint type of doodaa and this is replaceable. the replaceable part came loose and unscrewed itself leaving no clearance for the rocker. This led to the cam coming down and breaking the rocker in two. I asked if this would have affected the valve or the piston top and he assured me that it was ok.

This IS similar; but in my case I first discovered the rocker had slipped off and laying loose out of the way of the cam lobe. When I further discovered that ALL the rockers were loose or not properly adjusted; I proceeded to readjust each in sequence as 1/4 turn back from snug or about .010 thousandth/inch [.025mm].

The second time the rocker broke!! I believe what has happened is that the first time may have bent the exhaust valve. :wink:

No, the cam is solid!
The builder's distributor in London [these are built in New Zealand apparently], told me that the factory pre-adjusts the rockers to proper specs. I asked this question before I bought from them. I should have been more prudent and checked them myself. I would also advise going a step further and depress each valve spring fully to insure that the valve travels freely and no binding. The cam lobe opens it most of the way but you can't 'feel' the resistence by merely rotating the cam.

My mechanic removed all the little jobbies and threadlocked them back in. So far so good

Having just myself fitted a new cylinderhead I,ve noticed you quoted 10 thou for valve clearances. using infomation on this forum I have set intake valves at 4 thou or 0.10mm and exhaust at 8 thou or 0.20mm.
When i purchased my fully built up head I found all the valve clearances miles out with the rocker locking nuts not very tight so i decided to strip it down double checking everything.
