longhaul8, my problem is that my rear 'across the back conversion' is going in at the moment and the existing front seat facing the front means that the recline back of such is obstructing the new seat boxes, I presume this is because the runners are the short variety, so they
(converters) have taken the seat out and turned it facing the rear, ok not such a big deal except for the seat belts will no longer function, I suppose its lap belts then, another problem!

thanks for your interest

With the seat reversed like you say it is lapbelts or no belts with the seat turnned around facing the rear you do not have to have seat belts.

So if no one is going to be traveling in the rear why bother fitting any belts. i would fit lap belts if you intend to carry passengers but you do not need to.

interesting, I presume this is the legal stance? however I could see a time when I might want to carry passengers so, who's fitted lap belts? where would be the attachment to the seat? etc
