Gear box problem advise required

Post by M 80NGO » Fri Jun 24, 2011 8:41 pm

Hi my bongo has been off the road for just over a week now having the fuel pump inner seals replaced, now its all back together i seem to have aquired a slight gear box issue, it was fine before it was parked up and all gears engage forward and reverse but now if i pull away in drive it won't change gear it just revs higher and higher until 4000 rpm at which point it will change up, if i push the hold button so the hold light on the dash comes on then it changes gear fine and drives as it should then after a while the hold light starts flashing, i can only assume its summat simple as it was working fine before and the gearbox oil levels are ok tho i did give it half a litre to bring it back to the max mark, oil level was checked with the engine running and in Neutral.

Any info will be greatly recieved, Pete.

Hi, if they were working on the fuel pump check your throttle position sensor it affects when the box changes up. That sabout all i can think of they may have even forgot to connect it although i would have thought the hold light would flash from the start. I`ll see if i can find the thread about the TPS for you.

Maybe the T.P.S.C.R. has come adrift.

4000 rpm on a Bongo sounds horrendous.
