OIL DIPSTICK

Post by cruickie46 » Mon Jul 04, 2011 3:59 pm

I do not have a service manual for my V6 2.5 bongo and require advice on engine oil and dipstick.
Under the driver seat is situated the engine oil filler cap( i presume) and next to that is a dipstick. Can anyone advise what thatdipstick is
and also, there is also a dipstick under the passenger seat. Please advise what that is also.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Not having a petrol I don't know the exact arrangement but.......

If it is an auto (which I assume V6's are) the other dipstick will be for the auto box transmission fluid.

On a diesel the oil filler and engine dipstick are very close to each other under the passenger seat and the autobox dipstick is sited towards the back of the engine under the driver's seat and it's tube clearly leads back to the box.

If one of your dipstick tubes clearly leads backwards to the gearbox that is the one for the transmission fluid.
