Fuel pump timing

Post by widdowson2008 » Sat Jul 09, 2011 10:10 am

Spenners engine is up and running and it sounds pretty nice. BUT.........
The fuel pump was adjusted to get it to 'sound' reasonable at all revs. Not a very scientific way of doing things but it helped.
I suspect that fuel consumption may not be so good and the pump will need adjusting correctly.
Looked through the manual and whilst it states that after the fuel pump has been disturbed (for whatever reason), then it will need adjusting.
The manual however doesn't explain how to do this. Has anyone any ideas?
Off to do a bit of trawling.........

Hi,
You will probably need to get pump dialed in,if you dont have a gauge its a shop job.

Would be worth checking the belt timing if you are finding it difficult to get results.

Cheers

Not sure what dialed in actually means - sorry. On another learning curve I'm afraid.
If it's a specialist job, then that's the way spenner will have to go. Would have been good to find out how it's done though.
